Bethlehem, PA (10/07/2019) — The Northampton athletic program was honored on October 2 at the annual Region XIX awards banquet as the co-winner of the Champions of Character Award, along with Brookdale Community College (NJ).

The Champions of Character award is presented annually to the Region XIX institution that demonstrates outstanding involvement in the community. Student-athletes and coaches at NCC embrace the true spirit of competition through the five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

The Champions of Character award is the 4th for the Northampton athletic program (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019), the most of any program in Region XIX.

"This is something we take very seriously and strive for every year," remarked Director of Athletics Troy Tucker, "our coaches, staff and student-athletes take pride in winning this award and representing our athletic program, and the College, in a positive manner."
