Meeting the needs of local businesses

Bethlehem, PA (04/19/2019) — Northampton Community and Lehigh Carbon Community Colleges, in partnership with PA CareerLink, offers free machining training for those who qualify through a Strategic Innovation Fund grant provided by Workforce Board Lehigh Valley and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Machining is a high priority occupation providing excellent jobs and career opportunities in the Lehigh Valley.

The NCC program is proud to announce the completion of the program by the first five students in the cohort: Tim Bosler, Aaron Hennet, Felicia Hude, Frank Metzer, and Olu Stewart. They completed 300 hours of training to prepare them for precision machining positions, making them much sought after by Lehigh Valley manufacturers.

All students have been offered employment and have started or will start jobs in the near future. The graduates also successfully passed three level 1 NIMS certification tests, valued by employers as proof of industry competency.
