John Hope Bryant to Speak at NCC

Bryant is Founder, Chairman & CEO, Operation HOPE and advisor to the last three sitting U.S. presidents

RESCHEDULED: John Hope Bryant lecture has been rescheduled from April 14 to September 30.

Bethlehem, PA (03/13/2020) — John Hope Bryant became a businessman early in life with a modest $40 investment from his mother in his first business idea at the age of 10. Today, Bryant is a bestselling author, former presidential advisor, and the Founder, Chairman & CEO of Operation HOPE and Bryant Group Ventures.

Bryant will be the keynote speaker of Northampton Community College's (NCC) Annual Humanities Theme: Empathy & The Entrepreneur. His talk will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Campus's Arthur L. Spartan Center, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem Township. The event is open to the public and free of charge. Reservations are required. Tickets will be available online a few months prior to the event.

Operation HOPE is a non-profit organization providing financial literacy empowerment and economic education to youth and adults, founded by Bryant after the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Under the banner of "silver rights," Operation HOPE has aided over 2.8 million individuals worldwide, and directed more than $2.7 billion in economic activity for the disenfranchised: turning check cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners and minimum wage works into living wage consumers.

Bryant is also chairman and chief executive officer of Bryant Group Ventures, co-founder of Global Dignity, and chairman and chief executive officer of The Promise Homes Company, the largest for-profit minority-controlled owners of institutional-quality, single-family residential rental homes in the U.S.

Bryant is one of the only bestselling authors on economics in the world today who happens to also be African-American. How The Poor Can Save Capitalism: Rebuilding The Path to the Middle Class (BarrettKoehler) was selected as the Best Business Book for Economics & Finance for 2014 by 800-CEOREAD, the Best Business Book for Sustainability in 2014 by Business+Strategy, and as one of the Essence Magazine Top 10 Best Books for 2014. Bryant is a TIME Magazine 50 (Leaders) for the Future (1994 cover story) and an Oprah's Angel Network award recipient.
