NCC Executive-in-Residence is Vignon International Owner and President

Stephen Somers will have a "fireside" chat with NCC President Mark Erickson

Bethlehem, PA (10/03/2019) — The Northampton Community College (NCC) 2019 Hal Shaffer Memorial Executive-in- Residence Lecture will feature Stephen Somers, president and owner of Vigon International, a specialty ingredient supplier for flavors, cosmetics and more. He will be interviewed "fireside-chat style" by NCC President Dr. Mark Erickson at the Monroe Campus on Tuesday, October 22, at 3 p.m. in Room 108, Pocono Hall. The talk is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to events@northampton.edu or 610-861-5519 by October 17. The interview will be followed by a question-and-answer period. Afterwards, students will have the opportunity to network with other industry leaders.

In 2016, Somers was named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year in Manufacturing for the Greater Philadelphia Area. He serves as a trustee on several college and non-profit boards, including the Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono Foundation. This spring, Somers was the Centenary University commencement speaker where he also received a Doctor of Humane Letters.

In 1997, Somers joined Vigon International and in January 1998, became the president and owner of the company. Since that time, Vigon has been named seven times to the INC 5000 Fastest Growing Company List, eight times as One of the Best Places to Work in PA, and three times to the National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
