NCC to Hold "Minding Your Mind: Breaking the Silence through Education"

Learn about signs of mental illness, reducing stigma and prevention

Bethlehem, PA (01/16/2019) — Northampton Community College (NCC) will hold a talk "Minding Your Mind: Breaking the Silence through Education," at its Bethlehem and Monroe campuses on Tuesday, January 29.

A speaker will share his personal story in an effort to break the silence and reduce the stigma and destructive behaviors often associated with mental health issues and illnesses, and the transition from crisis-based response to prevention through education. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the signs and symptoms of mental disorders, learn that these conditions are treatable and that help is available. The event is sponsored by THRIVE: NCC's Mental Wellness Alliance. Locations and times are:

Monroe Campus, Room 108, Pocono Hall, 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Bethlehem Campus: Lipkin Theatre, Kopecek Hall, 3:30 - 4:45 p.m.
