NCC To Hold Free Information Session on Career as Community Health Worker

Community health workers have a positive impact on their communities

Bethlehem, PA (07/24/2018) — Are you community-minded and interested in having a positive impact through a new career? You may want to consider becoming a community health worker (CHW).

Northampton Community College (NCC) will hold an information session to learn about this career, training program and how to get started on August 7 at 6:00 p.m. at the College's Monroe Campus in Tannersville and on August 9 at 6:00 p.m. at NCC's Fowler Family Southside Center in Bethlehem.

CHWs work as members of healthcare teams in patient-centered, medical homes or care organizations, helping individuals overcome barriers to care by linking them with their local communities.

The session is free. The program itself will begin on September 10. To register, visit Northampton.edu/HealthCareCourses. Questions? Call 610-332-6585 or email healthcare@northampton.edu.
