NCC to Offer Free, Virtual Community Health Worker Info Session
Community Health Workers help people in their communities.
Bethlehem, PA (01/25/2022) — Do you love your community, want to have a positive impact on it, and have a passion for helping your neighbors? Attend a free, virtual information session about the Community Health Worker (CHW) career on February 10 at 2:00 p.m., on February 23 at 10:00 a.m., or on March 14 at 1:00 p.m. Training is available through Northampton Community College (NCC).
As a CHW, you will help individuals overcome barriers to care by linking them to their local community resources. The Affordable Care Act mandates that CHWs are to be members of health care teams in patient-centered medical homes or in accountable care organizations, causing this to become a growing field. Our accredited Community Health Worker training program provides the tools to be successful in a new career with the potential of earning $14.00 per hour.
