NCC to Offer Free Introduction to OSHA Workshop

Learn why compliance is important and how it can benefit your organization

Bethlehem, PA (02/13/2019) — This spring, Northampton Community College (NCC) in partnership with the Allentown Public Library (APL) is bringing workplace safety to local businesses. Recognizing that many local businesses may be struggling with safety and compliance concerns, APL is sponsoring a free Introduction to OSHA workshop to help dispel myths and present the benefits of compliance. Organizations that don't have a clear understanding of regulatory compliance and a compliant safety program may be subject to costly fines issued by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), regardless of their size.

COMPLIANCE SAVES NOT COSTS MONEY Implementing safety measures through training and adhering to OSHA compliance laws may cost some money up front, but it saves more money and lives in the long run. In fact, an effective safety and health program can save $4 to $6 for every $1 invested (source: OSHA.gov). Whereas, the costs associated with work-related injuries and illnesses; sick pay, fines, legal costs and repairs, have the potential to destroy bottom lines and businesses.

WHY COMPLIANCE IS SO IMPORTANT Statistically speaking, organizations that implement safety training, have less accidents. Less accidents decrease employee downtime and increase productivity and morale. Safer organizations have decreased insurance premiums due to low risk modifiers. Safety-minded organizations retain and attract high performing employees.
