Reibman Hall earns NAEYC accreditation

Bethlehem, PA (01/31/2020) — Northampton Community College's (NCC) Reibman Hall Children's Center on Bethlehem Campus was re-accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Early Learning Program until April 1, 2025.

NCC Children's Centers are located on the college's Bethlehem and Monroe campuses and accept children 6 weeks to kindergarten entry. Both centers are staffed by qualified teachers employed by the college. The centers offer full and part-time care and education on a semester or full year basis to children of NCC students, staff and the community. The arts-based emergent curriculum is implemented in the centers' universally designed for learning classrooms (UDL).

The center meets the NAEYC Early Learning Program Accreditation Standards and Assessment Items. The accreditation is based on policy, research, and early childhood practice.

"Every ounce of our staff's hard work is demonstrated, not only on the NAEYC assessment visit day, but every day in their work with families, students, faculty, each other, and most importantly, the children. I am honored to work with all of them as we meet the highest standards in early education, sparked by the arts," says Denise Madzik, NCC Reibman Hall Children's Center coordinator.

Northampton's Children's Centers are licensed by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and are rated four-star facilities through the state of Pennsylvania's Keystone STARS program in addition to being accredited by NAEYC.

The NAEYC is a professional membership organization with 60,000 individual members and 50 affiliates that promote high-quality early learning for children up to age 8 with support for the educators who care for them. "Together, we work to achieve a collective vision: that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential," says NAEYC.org.
