NCC Monroe to Offer Pharmacy Technician Training Program & Exam Prep
Thirty-hour program prepares graduates to work in retail pharmacies.
Bethlehem, PA (03/16/2020) — Train to be a pharmacy technician and prepare to take the certification exam through a comprehensive program offered by Northampton Community College (NCC) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 14 - May 14, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., at the Monroe Campus, 2411 Route 715, Tannersville.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment is expected to grow 12%, much faster than average, through 2026. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, pharmacy technicians dispense prescription medication to customers or health professionals, screen prescription orders for completeness and accuracy, prepare prescriptions, provide drug information and education to patients, especially as it relates to the potential for negative side effects They work in drug, general merchandise, and grocery stores, and in hospitals.
