Bethlehem, PA (12/20/2021) — The Northampton Community College (NCC) athletic program has been chosen as a recipient of the 2020-2021 Region 19 Champions of Character Institutional Award, as announced by the Region 19 Awards Committee.

The Champions of Character Award is the 6th consecutive for the NCC Spartans, which is the most by any program in the region. "It is always an honor to win this award," said Troy Tucker, athletic director at NCC. "This one was definitely a little different given the pandemic, but our coaches, staff and student-athletes found ways to contribute to the campus and the community, despite all the limitations and challenges."

The Region 19 Champions of Character Award recognizes an athletic program that has superior community involvement and excels in character development of its student-athletes and coaches. Programs that embrace the true spirit of competition through the five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship are qualified to earn this award.
