NCC to Offer Free "Cops n Kids" Story Time Series

Events will be held in Cops n Kids Library at Fowler Center

Bethlehem, PA (09/27/2021) — Northampton Community College (NCC) will offer children "Cops N Kids," a biweekly series on Saturdays, from October 2 - December 1, 10:00 a.m. - noon, at the Cops N Kids Just Born Reading Room at the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third Street, Bethlehem. This free series includes:

October 2: Can A Bad Seed Become a Good Seed? Members of The City of Bethlehem Health Bureau will read The Bad Seed by Jory John. Participants will learn about staying safe and healthy and plant a sunflower to show how a simple flower can point us in a good direction. Ages 3 and up.

October 16: Magically "You"-Nique. Come on out for some magic tricks and story time and meet magician and current Miss Maryland Jr. High title holder Macie Bazella as she explains how we are all Magically "YOU"-nique. Ages 5 and up.

October 30: A Haunted Scavenger Hunt. Put on a Halloween costume and join friendly witch Taylor, who will read Inside a House That is Haunted, a tale by Alyssa Satin. Children will make their own miniature haunted house out of household materials and go on a Halloween hunt at the Cops N Kids Reading Room. Ages 3 and up.

November 13: Myla's Magic Day. What happens when a girl sketches a zebra, and it magically comes to life? Author and illustrator Erica L. Clymer will read her latest book, Myla's Magic Day and show children how to draw the zebra. Ages 3 and up.

November 27: The Grinch Meets the Cookie Monsters! Children will make the cookies that Santa loves and listen to How the Grinch Stole Christmas and meet the Grinch himself. Ages 3 and up.

December 11: Bagpipes, Beasties and Bogles. Kids will find out what a bogle is and take a "journey" to Scotland, where they will meet Charlie, from the book of the same title. Ages 3 and up.

Registration is required by emailing lvcops-n-kids@att.net. Include the child's name and age, the adult attendee, phone number, and event date. Masks are required for all participants. Call 610-861-5526 for weather-related information. Because of COVID-19, the reading room will be open Wednesdays, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on the following Saturdays.
