NCC to Offer Personal Care Home Administrator Certificate
Program is officially approved by the PA Department of Human Services.
Bethlehem, PA (02/11/2020) — Become certified as a personal care home administrator through a program offered by Northampton Community College (NCC) from March 2 through June 22 at the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third Street, Bethlehem.
The program is officially approved by the Department of Human Services - under 55 PA Code 2600.64 (a)(2 and satisfies the Pennsylvania requirements for obtaining (100 hours) training for certification as a Personal Care Home Administrator. It consists of 20 individual modules, covered in 31 evenings of training. The examination will be held on Mon., June 22, 2020.
Participants must attend and complete the Department of Human Services orientation class for administrators PRIOR to completing the 100-hour Personal Care Home Administrator Series. Please note: orientation class may be completed while taking individual modules, but must be completed before the end of the series. Applicants must have at least one credential listed here: • Licensed registered nurse • Licensed practical nurse with 1 year work experience • Associates degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator • High school diploma/GED plus two years direct care/administrator experience.
Please note: at this level of education, administrator certification is only applicable to homes with less than eight residents.
