Northampton Community and Lehigh Carbon Colleges to Offer Free CNC Machining Training

Partnership with PA CareerLink provides training for high-demand jobs

Bethlehem, PA (08/22/2018) — Northampton Community and Lehigh Carbon Community Colleges, in partnership with PA CareerLink, will offer CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machining training through a Strategic Innovation Fund grant provided by Workforce Board Lehigh Valley and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Machining is a high priority occupation providing excellent jobs and career opportunities in the Lehigh Valley. This training is free to those who qualify.

The training, which is held three days per week for 16 weeks, will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at locations in Lehigh and Northampton counties. Individuals who complete the program will be well-trained for entry-level positions in manufacturing. Training will be conducted at two technical high schools: Lehigh Career and Technical Institute (LCTI) in Schnecksville and Career Institute of Technology (CIT) in Easton. The LCCC course starts Tuesday, Aug. 28 at LCTI, and the NCC course at CIT begins Tuesday, Sept. 11.
