Bethlehem, PA (01/18/2022) — Sharon Beales, vice president of Institutional Advancement for Northampton Community College has been selected as a 2022 recipient of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Commonfund College and University Foundations Award.

The CASE Commonfund Award recognizes individuals who have made great strides in the development and quality of their foundations and who have provided significant service to the community of college and university foundations.

"Sharon's contributions to leading our fundraising efforts and foundation have been so very critical to the success of NCC, the success of so many of our students and the success of our work to make the college accessible to everyone," said NCC President Mark Erickson. "I can't think of anyone more deserving of this national award, and we are so fortunate to have her at our institution."

Beales has been responsible for NCC's advancement program since joining the college in 2015. In 2020, she guided completion of the college's Transforming Lives campaign, NCC's most successful fundraising program ever that raised more than $21 million to fund scholarships. In her role as vice president, she directs the college fundraising work and foundation as well as the Marketing and Communications, Career and Alumni Services, and Public and Private Grant Departments.

Beales' award will be presented at the 2022 CASE Conference for College and University Foundations this April in St. Petersburg, Florida.
